Friends Nan Reinhardt and Carol Light are in Montana this week. Both of them write for Tule Publishing. Nan's new stories are at home in Marietta, Montana, so she's going to get a hands-on feel for the setting. Carol's latest series comes from Crossroads, Arkansas and I think she's in Montana because Nan said, "You wanna go?" That is often all writers need to explore new places and meet new people. - Liz

Nan and Carol’s Big Adventure began today when we met up in the Denver airport and
boarded a plane together to Bozeman. We had already read a bunch of stuff about what
we’d be seeing and doing, but nothing really prepared us for the vastness of this state.
We made a little list for you just from today:
You know you’re in Montana when:
Everything is huge!
You’re surrounded by mountains.
You see giant stuffed bears and moose in front of every shop in the airport.
There’s a place to dispose of your bear spray in the airport (no clue!).
The airport itself looks like a hunting lodge.
The road to your condo follows the glistening rushing Gallatin River.
You see fly fisherman in that river.
Pines and junipers are everywhere.
A restaurant’s breakfast menu included trout and eggs for breakfast.
There are signs telling you to watch out for bighorn sheep all along the highway.
The highway from Bozeman to Big Sky is twisty and turn-y with huge mountains
on either side.
The mountains are not only huge, they’re very rugged, with steep rocky cliffs.
You see wide swaths of green breaking up the endless trees on the mountainsides that you figure out are probably ski trails in the winter.
Pickup trucks pass you on the winding road because you’re going too slow… too
bad, tough guys, we’re tourists doing our tourist thing.
If you want to join us further on our Montana adventure, check out our daily report on
Nan’s website, where we will be blogging each day’s escapades and shenanigans.

About Carol:
Carol Light is an avid reader and writer of mysteries. She loves creating amateur sleuths and complicating their normal lives with a crime that they must use their talents and wits to solve. She’s traveled worldwide and lived in Australia for eight years, teaching high school English and learning to speak “Strine.” Florida is now her home. If she’s not at the beach or writing, you can find her tackling quilting in much the same way that she figures out her mysteries—piece by piece, clue by clue.

About Nan:
Nan Reinhardt is a USA Today bestselling author of sweet, small-town romantic fiction for Tule Publishing. Her day job is working as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader, however, writing is Nan’s first and most enduring passion. She can’t remember a time in her life when she wasn’t writing—she wrote her first romance novel at the age of ten and is still writing, but now from the viewpoint of a wiser, slightly rumpled, woman in her prime. Nan lives in the Midwest with her husband of 50 years, where they split their time between a house in the city and a cottage on a lake.

Sounds like a great start to new adventure. Looking forward to these posts.
I've been passed by semis on mountainous roads before too. Keep being careful and don't let them intimidate you! Enjoy yourselves!
Enjoyed the post. I've always wanted to go to Montana.
Thanks for the shout-out, Lizzie! We're headed to Yellowstone today for a new adventure! Hugs to you!
Thanks, Liz! We're ready for another day's adventure in Montana. It's chilly here for my thin Florida blood, but I'm excited to be here with Nan.
